Summary: Ohno looses his voice after a traumatic experience. He is desperate and alone, rejected by the others because of his silence. One day, he meets Jun, a young diver addicted to the sea. With Jun's help, Ohno discovers another world where the silence is the most precious thing. Together, they learn another language: the language of the sea.







Chapter 13:

Jun swam toward the necklace, took it in his hand and climbed on the boat, tears rolling down his cheeks. It was over. Ohno was dead, Toma had killed his boyfriend.

"Jun, I'm sorry." Toma kneeled in front of him with an apologetic look.
"Shut up! You killed him!" Jun snapped, looking at him with furious and sad eyes.
"Jun, we had to shoot, we..."
"You what? You didn't care about Satoshi, you just wanted to catch Matsuda and now, my boyfriend is dead!!!" Jun yelled, tears blurring his view.
"Jun, I..."
"Shut up! Leave me alone, Ikuta!" Jun stood up, took his flippers and mask and dived into the water.

The sharks were still there, turning around Matsuda's body. It was dangerous to stay here but Jun didn't care, his life was over, he couldn't live without Satoshi. Jun swam. He swam during a lot of kilometers, his body was aching like hell but he didn't care. After a long time, Jun arrived on the beach where Ohno and him had made love for the first time. The diver sat on the sand, looking at the horizon, remembering the precious moments he had passed here with his lover. Tears started to roll down Jun's cheeks and the diver screamed. Grabbing his head with his hands, Jun screamed his pain and his sadness.

"Satoshi!!!!" Jun cried, falling on his knees.

The young diver lied on the sand, his body shaking with his sobs. Jun opened his hand where there still was Ohno's necklace. Smiling sadly, Jun put it around his neck, remembering the day he had offered the necklace to his boyfriend.

Jun smiled to Ohno who was playing with the fishes with a happy grin on his chubby face.

"Satoshi?" Ohno raised his head and smiled happily to his lover.

There are so cute!!! Ohno explained with his hands.

"Not as cute as you, babe." Jun sat behind his boyfriend, hugging him and putting his chin on his shoulder. Ohno sighed happily and lied his head against Jun. "I love you." Jun whispered, biting slightly Ohno's earlobe who moaned silently. Ohno took Jun's arm and wrote on his skin.

I love you too.

Ohno looked at his lover who kissed the tip of his nose, his hands stroking Ohno's sculpted stomach.

"I have something for you." Jun whispered and grabbed his bag behind him. The diver opened it and took a box inside. He held out the box to Ohno who was staring at him with a cute curious look. "Open it." Jun chuckled in front of his surprised boyfriend.

Ohno grinned and opened the box. His eyes widened when he saw the necklace. It was a necklace with a beautiful silver dolphin and a blue pearl in the middle.

"Do you like it?" Jun asked nervously.

Ohno nodded with a big smile and Jun pointed the pearl. The older's eyes widened when he saw the small sentence on it.

Tears filled Ohno's eyes and the silent man hugged his boyfriend tightly.

"I take it as a yes. It's a real pearl." Jun chuckled and kissed Ohno on the temple.

Silence and respect. Thank you, Jun. Ohno wrote on Jun's skin with the tip of his fingers.

The younger pecked his lips lovingly. It was the most beautiful answer Ohno could give to him.


Jun smiled sadly when he remembered this memory. The diver stayed on the small beach the whole night, looking at the Ocean and the horizon. He didn't want to go back home, it would mean Satoshi was really gone and Jun refused this idea. The diver looked at the water, wishing Ohno would appear with his beautiful smile.

Suddenly, Jun blinked, seeing Ohno who was walking toward him with difficulty.

"Satoshi!" Jun stood up and almost jumped in his boyfriend's arms.
"Ju-n." Ohno smiled, hugging him tightly.
"I thought you... I thought you were dead." Jun cried and Ohno shook his head with a shy smile.
"I'm so happy, Toshi." Jun sobbed and caught his lover's lips with passion.

Suddenly, Ohno's smile disappeared and the older became blurred.

"Satoshi?!" Jun panicked. His boyfriend disappeared and Jun screamed loudly. "Satoshi!!!"


Jun jumped, sweat rolling down his cheeks. He looked around him and blinked, seeing he was still on the beach. The sky was dark and the sea rough.

"Satoshi..." Jun whispered in a broken voice.

Suddenly, a scream made him jump. Jun turned his head and saw Hinata who was laid on the beach, a dark form next to her. Jun ran toward the dolphin and almost shouted when he saw Ohno on the sand. The silent man's eyes were closed, a lot of blood was escaping from his chest.

"Satoshi!!" Jun took him in his arms but the silent man didn't answer nor made a movement. "Hinata, I need your help!" Jun looked at the dolphin who screamed happily as if she had understood what her friend wanted. Jun helped her to move back in the water, tied Satoshi up on his back with their clothes and grabbed Hinata's fin. The dolphin started to swim with difficulty but didn't give up. Jun's heart was beating very fast. Ohno was still alive but in a pretty bad state, they had to hurry if they wanted to save the silent man. The sea wasn't as calm as usually, a lot of waves were hitting the rocks as if the ocean knew Ohno's life was on the line.
When they reached the beach, Jun looked at Hinata with grateful eyes.

"Thank you so much, Hina!" Jun whispered and the dolphin screamed happily.

Jun ran and called a taxi to go to the hospital. When they arrived, doctors and nurses rushed toward him and took Ohno with them.

"Come with me, sir, your arm is bleeding." A nurse smiled kindly to Jun who followed her.

The diver found a phone to call his friends and ten minutes later, Jun received a crying Kazu in his arms.

"Where were you, I was worried sick!" Nino buried his face in the younger's neck, crying silently.
"Kazu... I'm sorry." Jun whispered and when the gamer released him, Jun received a crying Aiba in his arms.
"Don't ever do that again." Aiba cried.
"I'm sorry." Jun mumbled.
"Where were you? You disappeared with Toma?!" Nino exclaimed, a bit angry.
"I was on the beach. The beach of Toshi and me." Sho nodded to his friend, knowing how much this place counted for the younger.
"We are sorry, Jun but the police didn't find Ohchan." Aiba sobbed.
"He is here. Hinata brought him with her to the beach. She saved him." Jun smiled sadly.
"How is he?"
"Pretty bad. The doctors told me he had lost a lot of blood but I have to wait, they are taking care of him." Jun whispered painfully.
"I'm sorry, J." Nino wrapped his arms around the younger's neck, putting his forehead against his.
"Are you all right?" Sho asked with worried eyes.
"I've ever been better."
"You must be strong, Jun. For Ohchan." Nino whispered in his ear.
"I know." Jun smiled.

They waited for hours. When Yamapi came, Jun was sleeping, his head on Nino's lap and Sho and Aiba were dozing off.

"Ano, Jun-san?" Jun jumped and looked at the young doctor.
"How is he?!"
"He has lost a lot of blood, we healed his injuries but he needed an important surgery." Yamapi said.
"And?"
"He is alive but in coma. We don't know if he'll wake up one day." Yamapi bowed with an apologetic look.
"Can I see him?"
"Yes."
"Thank you, Yamapi."

Jun almost ran in Ohno's bedroom. The silent man was in a pretty bad state. He had a lot of bruises and a big bandage around his chest. A machine was linked to his heart, an annoyed 'bip' resounding in the bedroom.

"Satoshi." Jun whispered with a broken voice. The diver took the silent man's hand and kissed his palm. "Come back, baby, I love you."

"Satoshi!!!" Ohno heard his lover screaming his name before the boat crashed in the rocks.

Ohno looked around him and, without thinking, dived in the water before the explosion. The silent man gasped when he fell in the water, he hadn't breath before and water filled his throat painfully. Ohno looked at his chest and saw lots of blood leaving his body. The silent man froze when he saw some sharks around Matsuda's body. He had to breathe; his lungs needed air, now. Ohno started to swim to win the surface but his view blurred and before he could faint, he heard a scream and saw Hinata, swimming toward him. Ohno smiled weakly when the dolphin showed him to take his fin. With a last effort, Ohno grabbed the dolphin's fin and Hinata broke the surface. Satoshi coughed violently, air invading his body again.

"Hin-ata, fi-nd Ju-n." Ohno whispered in a weak voice and the dolphin screamed and started to swim quickly as if she knew Ohno's life was on the line. The dolphin was swimming as if there was no tomorrow, staying at the surface to let Ohno breath. Satoshi put his hand on his chest, trying to stop the blood but soon, tiredness won over his body and everything became dark.

Jun was looking at the sea, smiling sadly. Even if the sky was blue, the diver felt the big gap was as dark as the night. For him, the sun wasn't shining on the water anymore.
When he saw Hinata, the ex-diver approached her and stroked her head, a sad smile spreading his mouth.

"You did a great job this day, but it wasn't enough." Jun whispered to the dolphin, tears rolling down his cheeks. Hinata made a shy scream as if she understood Jun's pain and the young man put his head against her, water wetting his hair.

"I feel so empty, Hina." Jun whispered. "I feel so bad. Why the sky seems so dark every day? Why the sea seems so grey to my eyes?" The diver stroked Hinata's head and the dolphin screamed sadly, putting the tip of its nose against Jun's cheek. "You're wonderful. You did so much for me, you're the kindest and clever animal I know." The young man sobbed. Hinata looked at him with its deep black eyes and if she wasn't an animal, Jun could swear a tear was escaping its eye.

"Jun." A voice said behind him.
"She was incredible." Jun smiled, kissing the tip of Hinata's nose.
"Jun, it's enough." Nino hugged him from behind.
"I miss him so much, Kazu." Jun burst into tears against his friend.
"I know, J, but it was two years ago, you have to move on, Satoshi is gone."
"I can't, Kazu, I can't." Jun cried in a broken voice.

"Why don't you go to the beach with Masaki tomorrow, you could dive."
"No. Diving is over for me, it's too painful thinking Satoshi should be there with me. I still can see his smile, his cute chubby face with his mask, his kind look."
"J, you can't continue to live like that, you are destroying yourself. You are hurting yourself, you are hurting me." Nino stroked his friend's hair who tightened his grip around him.
"I miss him so much, Kaz'."
"I know, but I'm here for you, J. We can try together; I'll make you forget his absence." Nino kissed his friend who let him do.

Jun didn’t have the strength to push him away. He didn't want Nino, he didn't want anyone else, he wanted Satoshi. Jun closed his eyes and Nino deepened the kiss, stroking his cheek tenderly.

"I can't Kazu." Jun pulled away, Satoshi's smile shining in front of him.
"J, I know how you are feeling. I know you can't forget him but you have to try. You can't stay like that for the rest of your life. I love you and I'm not going to let you destroy yourself." Kazunari caught Jun's lips who didn't even react.

Both came back home. There still were every pictures of Ohno and him on the walls, Jun didn't want to take it off, it was too painful.

Yes, today was definitely a bad day, as the other days for two years now...

Nino made him lay down on the bed and Jun fell in a deep sleep without taking his pills. Since Ohno's accident, Jun couldn't sleep and took some pills to calm him down and prevent his horrible nightmares. For two years, Ohno was asleep. He was in a deep sleep and didn't wake up. Yamapi told him Ohno wouldn't wake up now, but Jun refused to stop the machine helping Ohno to breathe. Almost every day since the accident, Jun came to the hospital, staying next to Ohno during the whole day. Jun had stopped diving and was working in a supermarket. The ex-diver stayed alone the whole day, speaking less, even to his best friends who didn't know how to act. Jun's life was a nightmare, a dark nightmare which was eating him more and more every day. Nino had stopped his work for a moment and now, was living with the younger, trying to make his friend forget.

"We have to stop it, Ohchan won't come back." Nino said to his friend.
"Are you serious, Nino? Are you thinking about Jun?!" Aiba yelled.
"Yes, I'm only thinking about him. It's been two years, Masaki, two years! Ohchan won't wake up and Jun has to move on but he can't if Ohno is still linked to this machine!" Nino exclaimed.
"How can you say these horrible things?! It's Ohchan’s life we’re talking about, we can't kill him like that!" Aiba shouted, angry.
"He is already dead, Masaki! He is in coma for two years for God's sake! Two fucking years! I won't let Jun destroy his life, I love him!" Nino cried.
"You're just selfish, you want Jun since the beginning that's all!" Aiba snapped.
"No. I love Jun, it's true but I would never do something to hurt him. Have you seen him? He looks like a ghost! He is too thin, he works in a fucking supermarket and he refuses to dive, he just hopes for Ohchan to return. Do you really think this is a life?!"
"I can't Nino. I can't do that to Jun." Aiba whispered.
"Sho?" Nino turned toward his friend's lover who lowered his eyes.
"Nino isn't completely wrong, Masaki. I don't think Ohchan will wake up and Jun is suffering too much."
"Sho! How can you say that?!" Aiba exclaimed, furious.
"Baby, Jun has to move on."
"No, I won't let you two kill Jun's only love! Ohchan will wake up, I'm sure of that!" Aiba stood up and when his boyfriend tried to catch his arm, Aiba pushed him away. "Don't touch me, you two are just killers! I won't let Jun alone, I'll support him even if it's for the next 20 years!" Aiba cried and left the bedroom.

Aiba slammed the door behind him. He couldn't. He couldn't let his friends do. Aiba knew Nino didn't want it to hurt Jun but he still felt angry after the singer. How could he say such things so easily?! They were talking about Ohno's life not about a little shit you could throw when you were bored! Ohchan was Jun's only love and Aiba wasn't ready to let his lover and friend take him away from his best friend. Aiba was ready to fight if he had to. He'll do his best to support Jun even if it was for the rest of his life! Jun needed someone to bear this tragedy; he didn't need another boyfriend to survive but Satoshi.
Aiba smiled when he saw Jun looking at Yume through the glass of the aquarium.

"Masaki?" Jun blinked when the older hugged him from behind.
"I'll always be here for you, Jun. I'm not going to let them take Ohchan away from you, you have my word!" Aiba kissed his friend's cheek, tightening his grip around him.
